Many people are discouraged from using indoor tanning sub-conciously.
We
are all more or less the same when it comes down to the way we receive
information, especially when it concerns controversial subjects such as
tanning.
Usually we don't realize that we take in general information in passing and
tit- bits from TV and it just floats around in our minds and probably
causes us mild concern. Some of us may not even care about info as long as
we maintain our tan levels. Some of us are scared and have definite beliefs
about whether to tan or whether not to. What most of have really is just an
assumption. We don't really know anything concrete. We don't take the time
to really know any facts.
It is well known now that lack of sunlight and its benefits especially here
in the northern hemisphere is damaging to all our health just as
over-exposure to the sunlight is very detrimental to our skin. That's why
it's good for us to take advantage of sunbeds in these dark and gloomy
months as a safe option to receive the goodness assimilated through our
bodies naturally, when experiencing the effects of the light, not only with
Vitamin D assimilation but for benefits which keep the immune system
working properly and then to benefiting the feel good factor.
As we get older our skin starts to get wrinkles and other effects. These
natural aging processes are accelerated by too much sun exposure at any
given time usually, and most commonly experienced whilst on holiday for us.
The UVA in the sunlight reaches only the upper layer of skin the epidermis,
whilst the UVB reaches the deeper layer, the dermis. It is known that UVB
can cause burning and UVA causes the premature aging. Use of sunscreens to
a factor of say 15 is wise and which protect against both these sets of
light whilst on holiday and needing to be out and about. The best way to
avoid aging of the skin is to just avoid excessive amounts of sun exposure
or sunbed exposure. Shade is good and a gentle way of getting that tan.
It's being kinder to your self. Sunscreeing yourself helps but we do need
some rays for the body. Also your children need to receive some amount of
time without sunscreen in order to allow the body to make Vitamin D. Whilst
in this country in England, even during cold weather we should give our
children the advantages of the good light days we have and go outdoors so
they can keep their immune systems built up and their vitamin D levels
going.
Sunbed use is very safe and timed -a dose- and that length of time is
not going to harm you providing you don't get burned even slightly. Perhaps
using low-pressure lamps or those which emit a balance of UVA and UVB will
help with slowing the aging process. You can ask at your Salon concerning
which kind of lamps are used there and what exactly they emit on to your
body. New and safer technology is coming out every year to improve safety
and high standards so it's worth letting your Salon be aware of the fact
that your're 'on the ball' so to speak. Taking into account the overall
long term effects of rapid tanning might be worth thinking about as well.
Keeping skin well moisturised is a must and the creams available in the
tanning industry are invaluable with the high content of excellent and
nutritious ingredients some of which include-multivitamin products which
help the body deal with free-radicals, help with the effects of aging and
reduce the appearance of wrinkles, vitamins A and E raspberry seed oil,
grapeseed extract and many more. Using oil on the skin though increases
the penetration of the rays and exposure time should be halved. So find
out which exposure time to those rays fits you and your skin Enjoying the
benefits of winter use will not necessarily give you a tan but will give
your body the health benefits it really needs.
