Today, I’m writing about the kinds of sunbed we use in terms
of the Watt element on the long tubular UV lamp on the sunbed.
The three most basic types of lamp used are 100 Watt, 160 Watt, and
200 Watt, although the 200 Watt is still very new and not complete
in it’s testing.
The oldest, and safest of these to use are the 100 Watt lamps, being
more tested and much more suitable and reliable if you want to get
a good tan, dare I say it----- yes--- you’ve remembered------safe
tanning, responsible tanning. These lamps however are really much better
suited for longer session times e.g. 15 mins. I personally only take
a time of 12 mins.and find that’s adequate for me, as I still
prefer ‘longer and slower’, plus the time relaxing and
lying down is well worth it. So as you can see these lamps are not
suitable on fast beds or stand-ups.
The 160 Watt lamp is powerful and fast.and they are used in stand-up
units as well.Tanning can be a little deceptive under this lamp as
tans develop quickly, and can fade just as easily. You will find, depending
on your skin-type that the tan itself is never as rich or as deep
as of that on a 100 Watt lamp bed.
The 180 Watt lamps on the sunbed are just the 160Watt tubes which
are that bit longer.
More care is needed when using the 200Watt lamp bed as the testing
on this product is still incomplete.
All beds over 100Watt should only be operated in professional tanning
salons. All staff need to have received the proper training and the
appropriate qualifications. In Spain they seem to be leading the rest
of the continent in that it is already the law to have these levels
of responsibility and training with qualifications of integrity.
Obviously the whole theory behind the technicalities of the sunbed
and it’s lamps and the whole integration of all its parts is
a very complex issue. Here I’ve just depicted a very brief ,
but helpful outline. You can always find good sources of information
if your curiosity has been aroused.
Getting your head around all the intricacies of these sunbeds can
make you dizzy. I hope this is simple enough for both of us!!!!
